Cheverus Tops Westbrook in Double Overtime

Portland ME: Cheverus (4-1-1) avoided defeat with seven minutes left in regulation and then earned the 4-3 victory against Westbrook (4-2) with one minute left in double overtime.

With seven minutes left in the game and a 3-2 Westbrook lead, Matt LeBlanc headed a direct kick into the net forcing overtime.

Alex Day scored the game-winner with a breakaway goal with one minute remaining in overtime. It was his second goal of the game.

Raphael Tshmala recorded the other goal for Westbrook.

Tyler Rand, Lance Ludka and Brad Stiles scored for Westbrook.

Westbrook hosts unbeaten Scarborough and Cheverus hosts Windham, both on Friday September 26.
