The Bowdoin College men's and women's ice hockey
teams will host the annual "Skate With the Polar
Bears" food drive this Sunday, December 7 from
1-3 p.m. at Dayton Arena. Admission to the open
skating session is one non-perishable food item
or paper product to be donated to the local food
bank.

will host in conference rival New Hampshire
Technical Institute Thursday night with the
women starting at 6pm and the men starting at
8pm. The SMCC women stand at 4-3 overall and
3-0 in YSCC play while the women of NHTI come in
with a 4-3 mark and 2-1 YSCC record. Last
season both teams reached the YSCC finals with
SMCC winning the contest and propelling them to
the National tournament

1,000 words or less, on the topic: "The Most
important Lesson I learned in School."
Essays will be judged equally upon the
following criteria: originality, creativity,
eloquence of writing style, structure (how
well thought out the Essay is) and relevance
to the Topic. There will be one winner for
each of the following grade level groups:
Grades 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12. All entries
must be received by September 15, 2008.

Athletes from summer track programs all over
Southern maine came together at Scarborough High
School to attempt to qualify for the State Track
Meet in Augusta. Several Westbrook athletes
qualified by finishing in the top four of each
event.

meet was held on Friday July 25, 2008 at Gorham
High School. The meet was originally scheduled
for Thursday July 24 but was pushed back due to
severe thunder storms in the area.
